At The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa's signature restaurant deseo, is Chef Derek Biazo native of Kingman, Arizona. Biazo traveled to Northern California where he focused on French-influenced California cuisine as sous chef at Viognier, opened the Menlo Grill Bistro at the Stanford Park Hotel and served as executive chef at the Bay Area's Alexander's Steakhouse, an American steakhouse with Japanese influences. Biazo also held roles in local kitchens, including Elements, Top of the Rock and Alchemy.
