Devour Phoenix is a city-wide coalition of select, independent restaurants operating under the Local First Arizona umbrella. The Devour Phoenix restaurant coalition is working to maintain a forum for sharing ideas, purchasing power, and marketing dollars to advance dining in the Phoenix area, while also creating an image for Phoenix that is a respected destination for dining and culinary exploration.
Since 2002, Barrio Café has been the celebrated home to Chef Silvana Salcido Esparza. Here, her unique cuisine serves to elevate Mexican American culture. Chef Silvana's versions of regional Mexican favorites are recognized as some of the best Mexican cuisine in Phoenix, the region and nationally. Some iconic menu items include Cochinita Pibil, Chiles en Nogada, Chef's tableside Guacamole and Churro Rellenos.
Chef Justin Beckett and his wife Michelle became fast friends with sommeliers Katie and Scott Stephens when they met in 2002. For years they bonded over family style dinners and the excitement of pairing wine with each of their creations, until one night fate asked a question: “What if we opened our own restaurant?” With wine glass and notebook in hand, they feverishly jotted down everything they cherished about their nights together, from first course to napkin selection. By the end of the night, with their enthusiastic laundry-list, everyone was all in. Beckett’s Table opened in 2010 in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix, where fresh ingredients arrive from farms no farther than 30 miles of its kitchen, and its wine list has been created with such passion and attention to detail that it has won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the past six years in a row.
The sophisticated comfort food, open kitchen and warm hospitality reminisces back to their beloved nights of home cooked meals and hand-picked wines. The only difference now is that you get to sit at the table.
Beckett’s Table cares about the community and proudly supports our local farmers and businesses. The Beckett’s Table family encourages its patrons to support other independently owned establishments in an effort to cultivate a stronger, more self-sustaining community.
Binkley’s Restaurant Group
Chef Binkley has been cooking for as long as he remembers. The exact time he started cannot be determined, but his memories consist of always attempting to get one recipe right. At an early age, he already knows that his passion is cooking. While some people outgrow their initial plans in life, he didn’t. Instead, his parents supported him in his dream at a young age.
He was always joining children’s cooking classes. He didn’t limit himself to conventional cooking, but strived harder to make his very own recipes. His loved ones fondly remember him as a jolly little kid who transforms food to a whole new level of goodness by adding his own ingredients to traditional recipes. What more is that his ingenuity is not only present in his cooking, but baking skills as well.
Bringing with him so much pride with his talent, he managed to come out a champion in many cooking competitions. He became a champion for 5 consecutive years at Master Chef International from 2005-2010, among others, and he never fails to amaze people of his talent and creativity. This led to him starting his restaurant chain in 2008.
One thing that distinguishes his restaurants from others is his insistence in using only the freshest locally produced ingredients. He doesn’t import unless necessary, and chooses only the best people to man his restaurants. He believes in quality above all, as what could be witnessed in every food being served in his restaurants. From the smallest ingredients, to spices, even to his new venture which consists of several handcrafted beers, every supplier is handpicked by him.
He is very hands-on in his restaurants that you’ll often see him mingling with his customers when the meal rush is not that high. Other than that, he is always behind his kitchen coming up with new recipes to try.

The Parlor Pizzeria
A wood oven and a simple vision for a rustic Italian eatery is where it all began. That foundation and a long, creative journey has lead us to where we are today. our commitments to craft, value, freshness, and environment have successfully propelled the parlor forward through each changing season, and each passing year.
This building originally housed the salon de venus — a mecca for bobs, beehives, and nearly six decades worth of “cutting edge” hair styles and spa treatments. The owners of the salon decided to hang up the sheers in 2007. Through some luck and good fortune, the mei family was able to claim the space and begin dreaming up the parlor. During the massive renovation, a large portion of the old building was demolished and repurposed into all of the wood elements you see around the room, including the tables you will sit at. the salon de venus lives on in the new and sustainably built interiors.
So hopefully you find all of that interesting, but let’s be honest—it’s really all about the food. The parlor is fully committed to offering a menu that reflects the best ingredients each season has to offer. This is the core of our simple and approachable food philosophy. everything we serve is handmade daily, including all of the breads, pastas, and pastries.
Serving this community and having a positive impact on the budding food culture of this desert oasis will always remain our passion and our mission. Thank you for coming on this journey with us and thank you for the years of continued success. we look forward to many, many more!

Meet Chef Jason Peterson. His culinary story started years ago on the East Coast. Picture this. A young boy helping out in the kitchen with his mom, licking the frosting off egg beaters and learning the tricks of the trade; summers spent shucking corn and snapping green beans, listening to his grandmother tell stories of her life. From the beginning, Peterson knew that food and family, eating and sharing stories, are inextricably linked. Taking an honest approach to crafting good food—skills honed over the decades at restaurants from coast to coast—is important to Chef Peterson. He believes that homegrown cooking tells a tale, and that food should be approachable, delicious, and served with the gracious hospitality you’d find when dining at a friend’s house. Welcome to Switch. Welcome home.

Celebrated as one of the top 20 “Best New Restaurants” in the U.S. by Esquire Magazine immediately upon opening in 2013, as well as nominated by the prestigious James Beard Foundation for “Best New Restaurant” in 2014, Virtù is Chef Gio Osso’s intimate, stylish gathering spot tucked inside Old Town Scottsdale’s charming Bespoke Inn bed and breakfast.
Chef Osso is a long-time Phoenix area favorite, having cooked in countless award-winning local kitchens before fulfilling his life-long dream of opening a restaurant of his own in 2013 with Virtu, where his ever-changing menu features a modern, global approach to his Mediterranean family roots.
At Virtù, the Machiavellian term for achieving excellence, expect a wandering, Mediterranean-inspired menu that changes almost weekly, sometimes daily.
Menus feature handmade pastas, premium seasonal produce sourced from some of Arizona’s most celebrated farmers, superb seafood imported from the most notable fish markets in North America and southern Europe, as well as a seasonal cocktail program crafted with fresh-pressed juices and unique spirits.
Chef Osso often refers to the food – and the vibe – of Virtu as a “beautifully composed symphony of sights, scents and tastes”.
